Things we like to do

We LOVE Co. Clare

The Ennis Whiskey Experience is one of many great thing to do in Co. Clare.
If your stay allows you to explore a little deeper, these are some of our personal recommendations.

Dromoland Castle Hotel & Golf Club

Dromoland is a 5 star resort 10mins from Ennis and has an exceptional parkland golf course which hosted the Women’s Irish Open in 2022. Keep your eyes peeled for Eric on the fairways. He is a golf member there for over 30 years.

Hugo’s Bakery, Lahinch

Specialises in naturally leven breads, pastries to die for and intensely rich coffee. Can’t recommend the cruffin highly enough.

The Doolin Ferry Company

A great way to see the iconic Cliffs of Moher, with breathtaking views from the sea. They can also take you to the Aran Islands. A day trip to the nearest island, Inis Oírr (Inisheer) is a real treat.

Sweet N Green

We love this cosy restaurant near the Friary. It serves up vibrant healthy food with amazing fresh flavours. Husband and wife team of Frank in the kitchen and Siobhan front of house are so lovely and welcoming. The chilli eggs are a go to!

The Burren

Such a unique and interesting landscape, there is lots to see and do in north Clare. We’d recommend a free walk to explore the amazing flora there through the summer, especially around the coast with the Wild Atlantic waves crashing into the shore.

Castle Medieval Banquet

We are blessed in Clare that we have 2 castles offering medieval banquets. We recently attended one at Bunratty and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the music, singing and dancing. The second venue is Knappogue Castle.

Glór

If you are into the arts, then a visit to Glór in the heart of Ennis is a must. They host local, national and international music, theatre, talks, dance, film, comedy, visual arts....you get the idea! We love the Second Saturday soundscapes, a free lunchtime concert in the foyer, supporting local artists.

We LOVE The Wild Atlantic Way

Co. Clare is located in Ireland's mid-west. After you've enjoyed your Ennis Whiskey Experience, along with some of our favourites above, check out what else The Wild Atlantic Way has to offer.
